A highly accomplished mining professional with more than 25 years of international mining industry experience across Africa, specialising in gold, copper, silver and iron ore operations. His expertise spans mine geology, grade control, dilution management, geological modelling, production optimisation and operational leadership across both open-pit and underground environments.
Over his career he has led multidisciplinary geology and mining teams and contributed to mine start-ups and operational improvement projects in Tanzania, Côte d’Ivoire, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Africa and Western Australia. He currently serves as Mining Manager at Tietto Minerals’ Abujar Gold Project in Côte d’Ivoire, having previously served as the project’s Chief Geologist.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Diploma in Management from the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business, and is a professional member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (MAusIMM — Geology).
- Blast Movement Technology — Geita Gold Mine, Tanzania. Contributed to implementing BMT with electronic tracer balls, improving ore recovery in visually challenging geological zones.
- Grade control systems — Bonikro & Agbaou, Côte d’Ivoire. Played a key role in implementing GCX, DataShed, Snowden Supervisor and OrePro 3D.
- AusIMM Narrow Vein Mining Conference, Perth, 2012. Presented a technical paper on Pilot Study on Blast Movement Monitoring.
